[Re]inventing what already exists

Congratulations to the winners and runners-up of the second edition of the student competition [Ré]inventer l’existant: les architectes de demain imaginent notre avenir post-carbone, organized by DRAC and DRIEAT Île-de-France! A travelling exhibition is dedicated to them, showcasing the winning projects.
On the occasion of this presentation at ENSA Paris-la Villette, a meeting will be held with the competition organizers, the school’s prizewinners* and their teachers on December 17, 2024 at 6pm in Amphi 4:
- Katya Samardzic, architecture advisor, DRAC Île-de-France;
- Véronique Gonthier, in charge of promoting the energy transition in buildings at the Île-de-France DRIEAT ;
- Mélissa Laborde, Sophie San Miguel and Sophie San Andres, winning students;
- Guillaume Baron and Merril Sinéus, teachers.
The exchange is preceded by the first screening of the film L’opportunité de la banlieue, in the presence of director Mohamed Gholam, Le Nouveau Programme. This twenty-minute short film presents work carried out between 2022 and 2024 in the eponymous project workshop run by teachers Guillaume Baron and Merril Sinéus :
- La Maladrerie, Aubervilliers (93): Mélissa Laborde, Sophie San Andres and Sophie San Miguel, PFE 2023-2024 – winners of the 2024 [Ré]inventer l’existant competition organized by DRAC and DRIEAT Île-de-France
- Le Clos Français, Montreuil (93): Hélène Boumendil and Romain Golias, PFE 2022-2023 – Salma Belmekki and Raphaëlle Rouzier, PFE 2023-2024
- Alma-Gare, Roubaix (59): Alice Chaumont and Marie Clech, PFE 2023-2024
- Cité-jardins de la Butte-Rouge, Châtenay-Malabry (92): Yukio Chapuis and Jérémy Thomson, PFE 2023-2024
Mohamed Gholam, video-maker and ENSAPLV alumnus, accompanied the students on site as they met with residents and associations.
*Two other projects by ENSA Paris-la Villette students were among the 13 finalists and are also presented in the exhibition: Mathis Dudieuzère and Catalina D’Alessio’s project for the rehabilitation of apartment blocks in Romainville (teachers: Christian Horn and Philippe Dehan) and the project by Joffrey Bourassin and Matthias Guillois to rehabilitate the former Galeries Lafayette logistics center in L’Ile-Saint-Louis (teachers: Manuela Franzen and Julien Joly) were also singled out by the jury.
