Éditions de la Villette

Founded in 1980 within the École, Éditions de la Villette offers fundamental works on architecture, the city and landscape, aimed at both academics and professionals, specialists and amateurs alike. Taking a cultural, historical, social, technical or aesthetic approach to the arts of space, their publications are divided into three genres: essays dealing with the spatial issues of the contemporary world, books with a didactic vocation (manuals, anthologies, syntheses), and reprints and/or translations of fundamental texts that marked the discipline in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Thanks to its institutional base, which provides it with the means to pursue an ambitious and rigorous editorial policy, this ENSAPLV department is an invaluable tool for the production of contemporary architectural culture and its national and international dissemination to a wide audience.

Since its creation, over 200 titles have been added to the catalog.

Several works have received awards (including the Prix René Pechère and the Prix du livre de l’Académie d’Architecture 2022, the Prix Roberval 2015, the Prix Haussmann 2009, the Prix “La ville à lire” 2010 and 2005) and others have been nominated (the Prix du Livre d’Art d’Ajaccio 2023 and the Prix du livre d’Auteur at the Rencontres internationales de la Photographie d’Arles 2023).
