The École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-la Villette (ENSAPLV) trains professionals in architecture and planning to meet the challenges facing society and the environment, with a particular focus on urban environments.
Since it was founded in 1969 under the name UP6, it has promoted a diversity of architectural professions and approaches. Its range of courses includes initial, continuing and apprenticeship training.
The teaching, based on an openness to the human sciences and the plastic arts, is delivered by a multidisciplinary team. Research, an integral part of the school, plays a central role in the development of architectural practices in France and abroad. Thanks to partnerships with some 100 institutions in 50 countries, ENSAPLV is developing a strong international dimension.
A public administrative institution under the joint authority of the Ministries of Culture and Higher Education, ENSAPLV is the largest of France’s 21 public schools of architecture.
