Widely accepted as part of architecture in the broadest sense, naval architecture is a strong component of the diversity of courses offered at ENSA Paris-la Villette.
Since 2015, in partnership with ENSTA Bretagne, the school has been offering a unique bac+6-level course leading to two diplomas: the “Marine Engineering / Naval and Offshore Architecture” Specialized Master’s degree from ENSTA Bretagne and the “Naval Architecture” DPEA from ENSA Paris-la Villette.
Target skills
Learn how to design a ship by studying a concrete case study. The project, freely chosen by each student, includes the representation and 3D modeling of complex shapes, the functional organization of cramped living and technical spaces, and applications to mechanical problems in the broadest sense: fluids, materials, structures.
The corresponding courses enable students in particular to deepen their mastery of computer techniques at the service of the architectural project, using both “generalist” tools and specialized “naval” tools that can find applications in many other fields.
Job opportunities
Graduates work as naval architects, project managers, design, research and business engineers, and shipyard managers.
They work in all sectors of the naval industry (naval and offshore architecture, design, production and maintenance) for major groups, SMEs, naval architecture firms, offshore companies and research centers.
